Dive and Sea Tenerife ~ Newsletter September 2011.

It has been great to have another busy month, with all the fun of meeting new and experienced divers a like, as well as working hard training the PADI Divemaster interns.

We are looking forward to September which is already looking busy, and the last few weeks and days of the Divemaster internships, before they all return back to the UK.

Equipment Review

Sub Gear – Ladies Elements rash Vest – 22 Euros

A fantastic addition to my Subgear ladies range of diving equipment. This rash vest is designed to match the Elements wetsuits,  I am really pleased with my recent purchase and cannot believe I have never had a rash vest before not only is it a great addition under my wetsuit for cooler days but its also great for sitting on the boat between dives as with the UV Protection I don’t get burnt!

I love the shape of this vest designed for women, it’s a great cut and I really like the small capped sleeves.

I am now thinking of getting the long sleeved version for winter!

Yellow Mountain Swim Through

It’s a lovely relaxed dive, with its admirable rock formations, they are fascinating in the shapes and curves that have been created by the currents from the ocean eating away at the volcanic rock over the years.

The route taken for the swim through follows these formations along the shore line until the swim through is reached; along the way is some amazing aquatic life to be seen. Last week we had the delight of spotting a baby angel shark on our travels and two common rays in one dive, not forgetting the various colours from the wide range of fish commonly seen at this site, including Parrot fish, Ornate Wrasse and commonly various types of Bream.

Upon reaching the swim through a torch is sometimes a good idea for the inquisitive diver, trumpet fish often linger in the dark shadows of the swim through but taking a closer look into the cracks reveals hidden Moray eels and always spotted are Cleaner Shrimps feeding on the algae cleaning up the ocean.

Divemaster Internship 2011-2012

Divemaster internship places available throughout the year, from 6 weeks to 8 weeks dependent upon current certification level

Diving is not just something you will do for a few months of the year, it is something that will change your life forever. Even if you never work as a PADI Divemaster, for the rest of your life you will define yourself as a PADI Dive Professional.

If you don't want a professional qualification then how about becoming PADI Master Scuba Diver, the highest non-professional Scuba diving rating, that commands respect from all other divers.

You can start your internship at any stage from Non-Diving, Open Water Diver or even Rescue Diver.

The all new internship incorporates a full array of PADI courses, dive experiences and additional learning modules. Aside from being trained up to Master Scuba Diver and or Divemaster, you will receive hands on experience with Dive Centre Operations, kit maintenance, leading dives, safety procedures, customer liaison, boat management and professional procedures.

You will have the opportunity of working first-hand with real students in different diving courses and PADI diving programs along-side our experienced instructor. Learning to dive is not all hard work, it’s fun too.

Our professional scuba diving trainees programs have placed divers in diving jobs once they are completed. So why waste your time, come and learn to be a professional Divemaster and open the world of underwater opportunities.
